Inspired by the concept of a ladder, the design of the hot water bathing pool at HYZ Foot Spa is truly one-of-a-kind. The top of the ladder features a window created by luminous membrane structures, while the wall beside the window is a forest-like area built with concrete. This creates the feeling of being bathed in a forest of skylight, blurring the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces and bringing a sense of vitality to the entire spa.
The main materials used in this project include block stone, terrazzo, aluminum transfer printing, copper, wood finish, spray-painted transparent soft film, mirror stainless steel, and artistic texture coating. These materials, combined with the clever arrangement of the public area using the visual principle of near large and far small, create a spatial experience with a strong sense of depth in a narrow site.
One of the challenges faced during the design process was the presence of numerous unsettled downpipes that extended from the upper floors down to the lower floors, creating intermittent sound. The designers ingeniously solved this problem by beautifying the exposed downpipes and incorporating them into the design, forming a concrete forest picture displayed by spraying a transparent soft film.
The result is a space that not only provides a serene and relaxing atmosphere but also showcases contemporary art. From the decorative materials to the soft lighting, every element has been carefully chosen to create a profound art atmosphere. The lighting, in particular, uses the sunset lamp Halo Edition launched by Milan product design and consulting studio Mandalaki, guiding the mood with light and allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the quiet city scenery.
With a total area of 1100 square meters, HYZ Foot Spa is a true oasis in the heart of Taizhou. It offers a unique and rejuvenating experience for visitors, allowing them to escape the chaos of the city and enjoy a moment of tranquility and relaxation. The design has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022.
Step into HYZ Foot Spa and immerse yourself in a world of beauty, art, and relaxation. Let the soothing ambiance and innovative design transport you to a state of pure bliss.
